Task 4 – Kinetic Typography (Final Product)

For my final kinetic typography piece, I decided to use the an audio clip from the 2013 Blockbuster film, The Wolf of Wall Street, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio. This audio clip is 22 seconds long and is from one of the most famous scenes in the film. The scenes called the ‘Wolf Sales Pitch’ scene. Here is a clip of the scene. From 0:00-0:22.

This scene is a very serious scene and resembles the begging of their new company, revolving around the stock market and money. This is why I’ve chosen the font Adabi MT Condensed Extra Bold as this is a powerful looking font portraying the voice of Leonardo DiCaprio. The background colour of my piece is green like the US dollar, symbolising money and wealth, which is what this scene is all about.

If I could improve the product which I have produced, I would possibly add some animation effects or imagery on the screen to accompany the words. For example for the words ‘new’ I would like the word to shine or sparkle just as it were something new. Again for the world ‘wealthiest’ I would like dollar bills or dollar currency to animate on screen as the word hits the canvas. These are the type of things I will be looking into as further study to better my skills in the field of Adobe After Effects.

Finally here is my final composition of the Wolf Sales Pitch:
